40 Days until "The Crossing" begins. Mike still continues to update all his points on the gps systems and we've made lodging arrangements for the first few days. I'm a bit nervous about lodging the second night. It's pretty much an offramp called "Desert Center". I don't beleive there is a hotel there so we'll be camping. However there are many buildings which look somewhat abandonded and trashed which could make for some interesting photography! I don't think I'll be visiting those places without Mike though! After that night we'll be all comfy at the super 8 in Quartsite! It's the glamour tour for sure!!!! I am super excited.
Mike turns 51 this Saturday!

50 days until The Crossing begins
I figured I had better get a head start on getting the blog set up for "The Crossing" now. I'm sure I'll have enough to think about a few weeks before the trip begins!
For those of you who don't know, the crossing of the United States by bicycle has been a long time goal for Mike. A few years back he successfully rode from Canada to Mexico. Now at age 50 (well, he'll be 51 in a couple of weeks), and after over 20 years as a fire fighter, he feels it is time to go for the big one!
Recently, Mike has supported me during my transition from the corporate world to the freelance photographers world without hesitation. Now it is my turn to support Mike in accomplishing this goal and I plan on doing everything I can to help him succeed.
This blog is my opportunity to share this event with anyone who is interested. Your support through encouraging comments along the way will be greatly appreciated. The trip will begin April 6, 2009 from Huntington Beach California and will be completed before the second week in June.
