Mike has pedaled us into a different time zone!
Mike left Tuba City this morning at 6:00 a.m. and traveled 74.5 miles in 5.5 hours. He arrived in Kayenta, Arizona at 1:00 p.m. Mountain time, just 18 miles from the Utah border. Mike said the ride was tough for the first 50 miles, however the last 20 miles was a nice gradual downhill into town.
Kayenta offers no cell service, but the hotel offers free Wi-fi so this is our only link to the rest of the world right now.
The ride was not as picturesque this morning for me due to blown out skies and not much color, but I did managed to get an interesting shot of a donkey exploring an abandoned building.
I could not wait until tomorrow, I just had to run out to Monument Valley this afternoon, the sky was amazing and changing fast, I can't wait to see sunrise out there!
We are watching the weather closely as there is a storm coming our way (as you can tell by the images from Monument Valley). Tomorrow may end up being a unwanted rest day in Kayenta.
Check out more images from today's ride and Monument Valley at www.focalinstincts.com.
Have an outstanding day!
