Mike hit the 2,000 mile mark today!! He was also excited today because he feels he can officially put away the cold weather riding gear! Shorts and short sleeves all day long!
Mike climbed up and over numerous hills today for 75 miles. And as he climbed, so did the temperature and the humidity.
We rode through the Ozark National Scenic Riverways today. Once again we were surrounded by lush green forests and flowing rivers. We both managed to save a couple more turtles along the way and I watched a few enjoying a swim as we crossed over the river.
We thought we'd be camping today, however the closer I got to town, more showed up on the GPS and we are staying at the Scenic River Hotel in Ellington, Missouri. We are running into more cyclists on the route headed west. Our hotel has 3 other riders staying the night. Mike joined them this afternoon as they reviewed maps and routs and shared their experiences so far.
Tomorrow we head to Farmington where we will stay two nights. After 8 days of continuous riding, it's time for an official day off!
Cow shot of the day!
I'm not sure if this sign describes the Mail Lady or if it is instructions for the Mail Lady.
