Once again Mike has peddled us into another time zone (our final time zone). We are now on Eastern time!
After our forced day off due to weather yesterday, we were excited to wake up to clear skies and warm weather! Mike didn't seem to mind the humidity, he just unloaded the jacket and was happy to be back on his bike again.
Mike rode 81.1 miles today into Eastview, Kentucky. The farmland in Kentucky is so beautiful, rolling hills filled with a variety of wild flowers, old barns, a lot of cows and even a bottle of moonshine, so I was also in my glory as Mike made his way.
Mike ran into a westbound rider today on her way to Denver from Virginia. Mike figured based on his conversation with her, we are probably only about 16-18 days from the finish line! Check out her ride at www.karensbiketrip.weebly.com.
An hour after we checked into our hotel the skies opened up to a crazy hail storm. Rain is expected tonight and should clear by late morning so we are going to depart as normal, at sunrise. After this last bit of rain it is suppose to be clear for at least five days (so they say). Mike's plan is to ride a minimum of 80 miles a day for the next few days.
And of course the Cow of the day (it was hard to choose today!):
