Cold weather gear comes back out!

Although it was dry today, the temperatures dropped at least 20 degrees from the last couple of days. Mike rode all day with his cold weather gear on.

Mike rode 66.5 miles today through lush forests and rolling farm lands. The grades are beginning to become steeper and roller coaster like. We have found Kentucky to be really beautiful. The homes here are awesome, most of the porches are decorated with either beautiful white wicker furniture or old fashioned rocking chairs. My only question is...what is up with the lawn ornaments?? I'll have to photograph some tomorrow, definitely an east coast thing!

We've noticed in Kentucky, Black is the new Red. Most of the barns here seem to have fresh coats of black paint and many have some sort of decoration over the doors that resemble something like a quilt pattern.

We met another couple headed West today riding a tandem recumbent bike. They go by "Biscuit" and "Gravy". You can check out their ride at: www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/BiscuitAndGravy

The cow of the day looks pretty sad to me, probably because of the way his horns are growing. Poor guy!!
